Get to Know Me

Hi, y’all! I’m Rachel, a Mississippi country girl with deep Louisiana roots (geaux Tigers! ;P). I’m from a large family, and my parents and all 11 of my siblings are extremely talented. I always felt like the boring one of the family, the only one who didn’t have my own special thing I was good at. I always hid behind them and helped them with their projects and businesses. It took me a long time to learn that God has a special purpose for me as an individual.

Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love helping them out. But lately, God has been showing me that I’m free to be who He created me to be. He has blessed me with many gifts and talents. I may not ever be as creative as Jessica (www.parlagrace.com), or as outgoing as Rebecca, as gifted in music as Amanda (withajoyfulnoise.blogspot.com), as good at drawing and making things as Elizabeth (https://www.facebook.com/figureeightjewelry/), as good at making friends as Joanna, as loving as Naomi, or as aspiring as Ashlyn (meet my sisters, y’all), but that doesn’t mean I have to hide behind them. God has made me as me, Rachel Tero, and He has a special path for me to follow and special steps for me to take (just as He has a special plan for you).

This blog is one of those steps. I’m stretching my wings, trying new things, and I want to share my journey with you. I want to invite you to step into my own little corner of the world and see what God has given me to share.

Nests’n’Niches (find the inspiration for this name here) is a place where you can find something that will hopefully inspire you, encourage you, or make you smile. I don’t live the most glamorous and exciting life out there, but God has given me my own little corner from which to share the gifts He has given me. Whether you’re a mommy or a single girl, I’m sure that you can relate to something I share or find the perfect item for your nest or niche. So pour yourself a cup of coffee, curl up with a fuzzy blanket, feel free to contact me anytime, and, in short, make yourself right at home.
