I got into hand lettering last year. One of our friends does an amazing job with it, and I really admire her work, so I started playing around with it. I looked up stuff online, and for my birthday my oldest sister gave me a Tombow beginner lettering set (find it on Amazon here). I had so much fun with it that I bought myself a couple sets of the hard and soft Fudenosuke pens (find on Amazon here) and a couple sketchbooks (find on Amazon here and here).

Then I started looking online for help with how to hand letter. I found lots of cool sites, but probably the one that I have gotten the most help from is Dawn Nicole Designs. She has lots of free printable practice sheets and good advice--and you can sign up for a weekly "Happy Monday Club" that gives you extra free resources and great tips.

I do most of my lettering in the journal I use during my devotions in the mornings. Right now I'm reading through Psalms, and I love lettering the verses that stand out to me (photo above). It gives me good practice. :)

The main thing I'm working on right now is finding new fonts to try, and the Dawn Nicole 2019 lettering prompts are perfect for finding words to practice on. I didn't start until last week, so as you can see from the photo on the top of the page, I'm a bit behind. But I'm looking forward to catching up and learning new things!

I highly recommend Dawn Nicole's site if you're interested in learning how to hand letter, or looking to improve your lettering. Head on over to her site and start downloading all the great freebies and reading all of her tips--and join me in the 2019 lettering prompts!
